Port Hope sought an innovative way to engage tourists. We partnered with the municipality to create a tourism app using Beacons for interactive guided tours. Built with React, the native Android and iPhone app integrates Google Places for business listings, navigation, and reviews. Beacons placed throughout Port Hope trigger guided tours when users are nearby. And as a very special feature to the app, a live fish camera feed of the Ganaraska River, was accessible only through the app itself.
